A woman from St Leonards-on-Sea has been charged with drug and human trafficking offences following a police investigation into the suspected exploitation of two children.

Cara Foxwell, 25, of Silverlands Road, was arrested after officers executed a warrant at the address on Tuesday 3rd March.

The investigation was launched after Sussex Police received information on 2nd February relating to the suspected exploitation of two children linked to the woman.

Foxwell was charged the following day with possession of a Class B controlled drug and committing an offence other than kidnapping or false imprisonment with intent to commit human trafficking.

She appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court later the same day and was remanded in custody.

Foxwell is due to appear in court again on 1st April.

Police say safeguarding measures for the two children involved have been put in place by officers and partner agencies.
