Three men have been charged with arson following a fire that destroyed a tanning salon in Worthing last year.
Dozens of residents were evacuated from flats above TanTastic on Broadwater Street West after the blaze broke out on 21 October 2024.
Stuart Jenkins, 62, Brandon Tipling, 20, and Archie Ellins, 19, have each been charged with conspiracy to commit arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
Detective Inspector Louise Baileff said:
“This was a distressing incident that caused concern within the local community and significant loss to the victim.”
The three men are due to appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court next month.
Police confirmed that a woman who was previously arrested in connection with the incident has since been released without charge.
