Witnesses Sought After Crash Near Gatwick Airport

Police are appealing for witnesses after two cars collided near Gatwick Airport last week.

The crash, involving a black Ford and a black Mercedes, happened at the junction of Beehive Ring Road and Gatwick Road at around 3.55pm on Wednesday 16 July.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to the drivers of a blue Mini with white stripes, a white SUV and a white Caddy-style van, who may have witnessed the collision.

Anyone who saw what happened or has relevant dash cam footage is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, quoting serial 1197 of 16/07.

A 55-year-old man from East Grinstead has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, driving without insurance and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has been bailed until 17 September while enquiries continue.
