Brighton Fringe has unveiled its full programme ahead of its return this May, marking its 21st year.

The festival celebrates creativity across Brighton, Hove, and beyond, with around 30% of events produced by local artists.

As the world’s third-largest Fringe, it’s open-access, welcoming any performer with affordable registration fees and flexible payment options.

Artist support remains a priority, with 33 bursaries awarded this year, providing free registration, mentoring, and marketing support.

The Made in Sussex season also returns, showcasing home-grown talent with previews and free registration for local acts.

Theatre highlights include Jonny Woo’s Suburbia, the dance-theatre show Are You Even Indian?, and OnTheNose’s drag musical comedy MAN!FEST: A Boy Band Fantasy.

Custard Club and Beth Paterson’s debut NIUSIA explore identity, history, and queer community.

Comedy and cabaret feature heavily, from RATMAGEDDON and Police Cops: The Original to Alexis Sakellaris’ queer musical CHILD STAR.

Family-friendly shows include The Bubble Show, Out of the Box, and Madame Chandelier’s Opera Party for Kids, blending storytelling, puppetry, and interactive fun.

Dance, circus, and immersive performances include Cohabitors, Resonant Void, and Portals: An Immersive Dance Odyssey, while walks like Fearless and Fabulous Women of Brighton bring the city’s history to life.

Managing Director Amy Keogh said:

“Fringe is a chance for artists to take risks and for audiences to experience something new.
"There really is something for everyone.”

Brighton Fringe 2026 promises another unforgettable celebration of comedy, theatre, cabaret, and family entertainment across the city.

I can’t wait to see how they incorporate interactive experiences. It reminds me of playing Drift Boss and the thrill of navigating tricky routes – both have that exhilarating creativity!
