Residents from Charters Court Care Home in East Grinstead were treated to a unique day out at Hedgecourt Lake, thanks to a special invitation from the Commodore of the Crawley Mariners Yacht Club.
The private sailing club, based at Hedgecourt Lake, is normally closed to the public, but opened its doors exclusively to welcome the group.
Just a short drive from the home, the visit gave residents the chance to enjoy the peaceful waterside setting and take in the sights and sounds of local wildlife.
Among the first to enjoy the trip were residents David Stevens, Wendy Jones and Mary Perris, who relaxed by the lake and shared a picnic in the sunshine.

Julie Harper, Home Manager at Charters Court Care Home, said the experience meant a great deal to those who took part:
“It’s such a beautiful place to sit and relax.
"We are incredibly fortunate to have been invited by the Crawley Mariners Yacht Club.
"This kind of community partnership is invaluable for providing our residents with new and enriching experiences.”
