FreeShop Crawley has received a £5,500 grant from Crawley Borough Council to help provide extra Christmas presents for children across the town.

The funding will be used to buy and distribute gifts to families facing financial pressures, helping to make sure more children in Crawley can enjoy a special Christmas during what many are finding a difficult winter.

Based at the Bewbush Centre, FreeShop Crawley supports local residents year-round with food provision, wellbeing activities and community services.

Members of Crawley Borough Council’s Cabinet recently visited the FreeShop to meet volunteers and see preparations underway ahead of its Christmas celebration event for local families.

Council leader Michael Jones said the funding would help spread much-needed festive cheer, ensuring children who might otherwise miss out receive a present and highlighting the vital role FreeShop Crawley plays at the heart of the community.

FreeShop Crawley will work with volunteers and local partners to distribute the presents in the run-up to Christmas.
