Gatwick Airport Strikes Called Off After Improved Pay Offer

Planned strike action by more than 220 workers at Gatwick Airport has been called off after an improved pay offer was accepted.
The staff, employed by Wilson James to assist passengers with reduced mobility, had been due to strike for eight days during September.
The industrial action was suspended while negotiations took place with the Unite union.
A new offer, including a 5% pay rise backdated to April, has now been overwhelmingly accepted by members.
The union said the deal improved on a previously rejected two-year offer, which included a 3.4% increase for 2026.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said the agreement was "a great win for our members", adding that staff had secured the improved deal through collective action.
The planned strikes were due to take place between September 17 and 21, followed by further action from September 23 to 26.
Unite had previously raised concerns about pay and workloads, saying Wilson James' lowest-paid workers were earning £14.71 an hour.
The union also highlighted company accounts showing pre-tax profits of £17.43 million in 2025, while claiming the highest-paid director's salary increased by 38.7% to £670,000.
Wilson James has been approached for comment.

The overall structure of this article makes the information easy to follow. I especially liked how the author explains the subject gradually instead of presenting everything at once. Near the end, jaya9 provides another natural reference for further exploration.
For anyone tired of the usual monster-chasing formula, scary games can offer slower stories where curiosity and suspicion become the main source of tension.
