Girl, 6, Airlifted To London Hospital Following Serious Barbecue Fire In Crawley

A six-year-old girl has been airlifted to a specialist hospital in London after suffering serious burns in a barbecue fire in Crawley.


Emergency services were called to Worth Road on Sunday evening following reports of the incident.


The girl's father was also injured and has been taken to hospital for treatment.


Sussex Police officers attended the scene to assist emergency crews and have maintained a visible presence in the area.


A spokesperson for the force said:

"Officers attended to support the ongoing emergency response, and an increased presence currently remains visible in the area."

The circumstances surrounding the fire have not yet been disclosed.
