Men Charged After Cannabis Factories Discovered In Portslade

Two men have been charged following the discovery of cannabis factories in Portslade.


On Thursday, January 8, police received a report concerning suspicions that two units in Gordon Mews were operating as cannabis factories.


Officers were deployed to the location and entered the units, where they

discovered a large quantity of plants and growing equipment.

One man was arrested inside the premises.


A second man was promptly arrested nearby after he was seen leaving the building through a window.


Following address enquiries, a third man from Hove was also arrested.


Oltian Skarra, 21, and Ervis Marku, 26, both of no fixed address, appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 9, charged with producing a controlled Class B drug.


They have been remanded in custody ahead of their next hearing on February 6 at Lewes Crown Court.


A 49-year-old man from Hove has been released on conditional bail following his arrest on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.
