A prolific shoplifter who stole more than £6,800 worth of goods from stores across Worthing has been jailed for two years.
Dale Searle, 38, targeted shops including Co-op, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons between March and May.
CCTV showed him entering a Tesco Express in Dominion Road twice with his own shopping list, before leaving with bags of goods without paying.
Searle, who has no fixed address, admitted 19 counts of shop theft, assaulting an emergency worker and a burglary at a vaping shop at Lewes Crown Court on 4 September.
Police said he had already been identified as a prolific shoplifter and was targeted for arrest as part of Operation Apprentice.

Maybe a deeper look at what drives someone to that level of repeat offending could use a carta astral of its own.
