Thousands Of Crawley Homes Without Water After Major Burst

Thousands of homes in parts of Crawley are without water or experiencing low pressure following a significant burst water main.

Several roads have also been flooded and closed around the Southgate Roundabout.

Sussex Police said the burst happened in the early hours of this morning and described the leak as significant.

Southern Water says around 9,000 customers have been affected and bottled water stations are being set up.

The areas experiencing supply problems include Woolborough Road, Holmcroft, Southgate, Tilgate and Furnace Green.

Southgate Avenue, Crawley Avenue and part of the A23 are currently closed.

Southern Water says its teams are working to repair the burst and restore supplies as quickly and safely as possible.

Police are asking people to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the flooding.
