Two men have been remanded in custody after appearing in court in connection with a firearm incident at a pub in Hove.

Police were called to Montgomery Street at around 10pm on Saturday 4 April, after a firearm was discharged into the venue.

A man in his 30s suffered a minor injury, and armed officers were sent to the scene.

Five people were arrested as part of the investigation between 5 and 12 April, with three later charged.

A 45-year-old man of no fixed address and a 43-year-old man from Portslade have both been remanded in custody.

A 40-year-old woman from Brighton has been released on bail and is due to appear at crown court next month.

All three are charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Two other people arrested in connection with the incident have also been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Police say the incident is being treated as isolated and that there is no wider threat to the community.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact Sussex Police.
