Hospices across the South East are offering Christmas tree collection services in January to help raise vital funds for local care.
St Catherine’s Hospice will be collecting trees from 8 to 10 January across West Sussex in Crawley, Horsham and East Grinstead.
The hospices are working alongside JustHelping, a charity that supports community fundraising for local causes.
Ninety per cent of the money raised will go directly to the hospices, with the remaining 10 per cent supporting other local charities.
Last year, nearly 73,000 trees were collected nationwide through the scheme, helping raise more than £1.5 million for charities across the UK.
Shooting Star collected 775 trees in 2024, helping save an estimated 12.5 tonnes of COâ‚‚ emissions.
Trees will be either recycled into compost or sustainably chipped.
This will be the sixth year Hospice in the Weald has taken part, with hopes of collecting 2,600 trees and raising over £57,000.
St Catherine’s Hospice is aiming to raise more than £17,000, with a suggested donation of £20 per tree.
