Man Arrested After Two Injured In Brighton Knife Incident

A man has been arrested after two people were injured during a knife incident in Brighton.
Police were called to Sillwood Street at around 6pm on Saturday following reports of a man threatening members of the public with a knife.
According to Sussex Police, the suspect slashed a 28-year-old man across the face and ear and punched a 29-year-old man through the window of a taxi.
Witnesses also reported seeing the man chase and grab a dog before he was tackled to the ground by members of the public. The dog was not injured.
Both men were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
A 33-year-old man from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in police custody.
Officers also recovered a knife from the scene.
Detective Inspector Stephen Taylor described the incident as "distressing" and said a thorough investigation is underway.
He has appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact Sussex Police.
