Motorcylist Dies In Crash Close To Gatwick - Appeal Launched

A 45-year-old motorcyclist from Cobham has died following a collision with a van near Gatwick Airport.


The crash occurred on Balcombe Road, between Fernhill Road and the M23 underpass, at around 7.45pm on Tuesday, July 9. Both the motorcycle and a white transit van were travelling northbound when the incident happened.


Emergency services attended, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.


The driver of the van, a 26-year-old man from Crawley, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.


Sussex Police are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage taken around the time of the crash to come forward.
