Ten Thousand Tins

Help us to collect Ten Thousand Tins for FareShare

The last few years have been challenging for us all, but right now the soaring cost of living is having a devastating impact on many families across Sussex who are struggling to afford basics like food and heating. With inflation in double digits and food inflation alone running at 16%, the use of food banks continues to increase. Following our successful appeal last year, here at More Radio we want to help those struggling to feed themselves and their families. Once again, with your help, we want to collect TEN THOUSAND TINS of food. This year's campaign gets underway on February 27th.

Where do donations end up?

This year we're supporting FareShare Sussex & Surrey, a charity who tackle both food waste and food poverty. They work with 160 organisations locally to redistribute donated and surplus food. Last year they saved 981 tonnes of food which would otherwise be wasted. They provide food to charities, food banks and groups that deliver services such as advice and guidance, health support, counselling and befriending, in addition to meals.

So, how can you help?

Once again we've got drop off points conveniently located in supermarkets across Sussex so you can donate tins while you do the weekly shop. Every donation, no matter how small, really does make a difference.
