Chichester will host its first Emergency Services and Community Day in more than two decades this Sunday (24 August).
The free event runs from 10am until 4pm and promises a family-friendly day packed with displays, activities and entertainment.
Visitors can watch live demonstrations from fire, police, ambulance and coastguard crews, as well as explore a line-up of emergency service and military vehicles – both modern and historic.
There will be music, children’s activities, fairground rides, bouncy castles and plenty of food stalls, plus picnic and play areas. Community groups, charities and local businesses will also be running interactive stalls, and dog owners can even pick up training tips.
Station Manager at Chichester Fire Station, Anton Mezzone, said:
“We’re really excited for this event – it’s the first of its kind here in more than 25 years.
"There’s something for everyone to enjoy, from live demonstrations to displays of fire engines, ambulances and helicopters.
"We can’t wait to welcome the community.”
The day is being organised by West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service alongside Sussex Police, South East Coast Ambulance, HM Coastguard and local councils – all in support of the Fire Fighters Charity.
