Wakehurst has been named the number one visitor attraction in Sussex for the second year in a row, according to new figures.
Data released by the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions during English Tourism Week shows the West Sussex site has retained its top spot for 2025.
Wakehurst, which is part of Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, also ranks among the top 20 attractions in the South East outside of London.
Director Susan Raikes said the recognition reflects a year of investment in improving the visitor experience, including new exhibitions, events and celebrations marking 25 years of Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank.
She said visitors are continuing to return not only for the gardens and events, but for the site’s role in scientific research and conservation.
Looking ahead, Wakehurst is preparing to launch a new outdoor exhibition in June, featuring sculptures by Henry Moore alongside works by contemporary artists.
The attraction says it is looking forward to welcoming more visitors over the coming year.
