Crimestoppers has increased its reward to £30,000 for information that could help solve the murders of a father and son from West Sussex.

Daniel “Danny” Poole, 46, and his son Liam, 22, from Burgess Hill, disappeared during a trip to Málaga in March 2019.

The pair had travelled to Spain on March 31 and hired a grey Peugeot 308 after landing.

The vehicle was later found abandoned, while their luggage – including passports – remained in their hotel room in Estepona.

In 2022, Sussex Police reclassified the case as a murder investigation. Two men, one from West Sussex and another from Merseyside, were arrested in December 2024 as enquiries continue.

Crimestoppers says the increased reward is aimed at encouraging anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may be reluctant to speak directly to police.

The charity is appealing for information to be shared anonymously, with the reward available only for details passed directly to Crimestoppers that lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Annabelle Goodenough, Crimestoppers’ Sussex Regional Manager, said the family has been living with uncertainty for almost seven years and “deserve to know what happened”.

Liam’s sister, Lauryn Poole, said:

“Not a day goes by when we don’t think about Danny and Liam. Living without answers has been agonising.
"We need to know the truth, for them and for our family’s peace of mind.”

Crimestoppers guarantees anonymity for anyone who comes forward, with no personal details recorded or traced.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crimestoppers free on 0800 555 111 or via its website.
