43 Year Old Dies In Serious Crash In Ashington

A man has died following a late-night crash in Ashington.


Emergency services were called to London Road, Ashington at around 10.13pm on May 9 after reports that a car had collided with a stationary vehicle.


The driver, a 43-year-old man from Surrey, was pronounced dead at the scene.


Sussex Police say the man’s family has been informed, with specialist officers providing support.


An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is now underway, with officers appealing for information from the public.


Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have captured relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward as enquiries continue.


A spokesperson for the force said officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area at the time of the collision.


The incident has been logged under Operation Jenkinson.
