Appeal After Road Rage Incident Sees Woman Confronted Near Chichester

Police are appealing for further witnesses and information after a road rage incident near Chichester.


It follows a report of a suspected road rage incident involving a red Citroen Berlingo and the driver of a white Ford Transit pick-up van.


The incident happened shortly before 7am on 24 April in Sheepwash Lane, East Lavant.


The victim, a woman in her 50s, was travelling towards Bognor in the Citroen when she was overtaken in Midhurst Road by the driver of the van.


The van driver acted aggressively, stepping outside the vehicle to confront her, it is believed he may have taken the key to her vehicle. He drove away in the direction of Chichester.


Police arrested a 58-year-old man from Rustington on suspicion of robbery, and he has been bailed, pending further enquiries.


Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward.


This includes anyone with CCTV, mobile phone, doorbell or dashcam footage in the area at the time.
