A track that’s been circulating unofficially for more than 20 years is finally getting an official release.

Fatboy Slim’s ‘Satisfaction Skank’ — a mash-up of The Rockafeller Skank and the Rolling Stones’ iconic Satisfaction riff — has now been approved by the band after decades of refusals.

Norman Cook created the remix 25 years ago as a fun twist for his DJ sets, and it quickly became a fan favourite, spreading widely through bootlegs and file-sharing sites.

Attempts to clear the sample were repeatedly rejected, but the Stones recently contacted Cook themselves and even provided the original master tapes so he could finish a high-quality version.

The track has been a staple of Fatboy Slim’s live shows for decades and will now be released officially for the first time.

It caps off one of Cook’s busiest years, which included 115 gigs worldwide, the release of his book It Ain’t Over… ’Til The Fatboy Sings, and the continued expansion of his Sussex-based DJ workshops supporting people with mental health challenges.

Looking ahead, he has international shows booked for early 2026, a major UK tour, and plans to revive the Big Beach Boutique on Brighton seafront — with no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
