Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler says belief will be key after signing a new long-term deal with the club.

Hurzeler has committed his future until 2029, following a season which saw Albion finish eighth in the Premier League, with the team currently in a similar position heading into their next fixture.

Reflecting on his approach, Hurzeler emphasised the importance of confidence during both positive and challenging periods.

He said: “Never lose the belief in yourself.

“That is what I always have. I never lose the belief in myself.

“I never lose the belief in my staff members and my players.

“I always have this confidence and this trust in everyone that we can get this turnaround.”

He added that strong relationships within the squad and coaching team have helped the club navigate difficult moments.

Looking ahead, Hurzeler believes the foundations are in place for further progress.

He said: “I am sure that long-term this club can achieve something.

“This club can really compete with the top teams in the league and that’s all ahead of us.”
