LVS Hassocks, a specialist school for young people with autism, is celebrating another year of strong GCSE results.
The school, based near Hassocks, says it is “incredibly proud” of its students’ achievements and the dedication of staff who have supported them.
In English Language, all students passed (grades 1–9), with 39% securing grade 4 or above – including two who achieved grade 5.
In Maths, 90% passed, with more than half achieving grade 4 or higher, and two pupils securing top marks at grade 6 and grade 7.
In Fine Art, the school also achieved a 100% pass rate, with half of students attaining grade 4 or above.
For many young people with autism, the pressure of formal exams can be especially challenging due to heightened anxiety.
Staff say these results highlight both the academic and personal progress of their pupils.
Principal Rachel Borland said:
“Once again, our students have demonstrated remarkable resilience, determination, and ambition.
"These results show not only their academic progress but also their personal growth in overcoming challenges.
"I am immensely proud of both our students and staff, whose commitment and unwavering support have made this possible.”
She added that the school is determined to build on this progress as students move forward into further education and training.
