St Peter & St James Hospice is welcoming local school choirs to join their much-loved flagship event, ‘Shine Bright’, in Lindfield on Saturday 4 October 2025, with a new song written specially for the occasion.

In preparation for this magical In-memory walk, over the next few months, participating schools will learn a unique song for Shine Bright composed by local songwriter Jeff Topp, entitled 'You're Not Alone'.

The children will rehearse at their schools, and then for the first time, perform all together at the event village on the evening itself.

The song can be downloaded on all music platforms and money raised from this will go directly to support patients looked after by St Peter & St James Hospice.

Becky Stevens, Relationship Fundraising Manager at the Hospice, who is leading on the event, said:

"I am so excited for this Sing Along for Shine Bright Project.
"I really wanted to bring something different this year that included and involved the community and also the younger generation.
"I am so grateful for the team of people who have been so kind and generous to actually make this idea happen and to the children who already sound amazing!
"Our thanks to Gemma Hawkins and Mark Travers for their collaboration, and to Simon Janes of the Homeward Bound Recording Studios in Brighton.
"The song is beautifully written and I think it is quite fitting that, in our 50th year, the Hospice,  at it’s Shine Bright event, officially has it's own song!'

Jeff Topp, Songwriter of ‘You're Not Alone’, added:

“It was an absolute pleasure to be involved in creating this song for St Peter & St James Hospice.
"For me, music has always been a reflective, humbling and grounding medium to express and connect emotions on so many levels.
"So, I wanted to create a song that was not only reflective and sensitive to the subject but also upbeat and hopeful. I hope this resonates with everyone who listens to the track."
