The family of a man who died after being found with serious injuries at his home in Worthing have described him as “loved by so many.”
80-year-old Anthony Scarrott – known as Tony – was taken to hospital on Thursday 11 September but sadly died three days later.
Paying tribute, his sister Sandy said:
“My brother Tony was loved by so many family members and friends. I just want to say, ‘Tony, sleep tight and remember the show must go on.’”
A photograph of Tony in his early 20s has also been released by his family.
Detectives from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team have launched a murder investigation.
Arno Engels, 39, of no fixed address, has been charged with Mr Scarrott’s murder.
He appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Friday 19 September and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on 5 December.
Police are still appealing for information, particularly from anyone who may have seen or helped Tony in Westcourt Road between 7.20pm and 7.40pm on 11 September.
Anyone with information is urged to report it online or call 101 quoting Operation Brentford.
