Emergency services were called to deal with two separate property fires in Eastbourne on Saturday night (23rd August).
The first incident happened at a property in Seaside at 8:36pm. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze using a hose reel jet, with gas and electricity supplies isolated for safety. South East Coast Ambulance Service attended to assist one person. An investigation into the cause is underway.
A second call came at 9:09pm to a property in Mill Road. Crews again used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to bring the fire under control.
A third reported incident in Barcombe Close turned out to be a false alarm.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed both genuine fires were dealt with swiftly and enquiries into the circumstances will continue.
