Worthing Man Admits Killing Brother While On Bail For Arson
A Worthing man has admitted killing his brother by stabbing him at least 36 times.
Taylor Mitten, 23, pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility at Lewes Crown Court on Friday.
His brother, 25-year-old Jack Mitten, was found dead at a property in Lindum Road, Worthing, on 3 September last year.
He had suffered multiple stab wounds to his head, chest and neck.
Taylor Mitten went on the run after the killing and shaved off his beard in an attempt to disguise himself.
He was arrested three days later in Curzon Close, Worthing, on suspicion of murder.
When asked in court if he had killed his brother, Mitten replied: "Guilty."
At the time of the killing, he was on bail from the Crown Court for conspiracy to commit arson and other offences.
He had previously pleaded guilty to setting fire to a Nissan Qashqai in 2020.
Mitten will be sentenced in October.
