76 Year Old Brighton Man Jailed For Stalking Three Women

A Brighton man has been jailed after admitting stalking three women over a nine-month period.
Geoffrey Lower, 76, of Stanmer Villas, appeared before Lewes Crown Court after being charged with three counts of stalking causing serious alarm or distress.
The offences took place between March and December 2025 and involved repeated unwanted contact, including messages, voicemails and visits to the victims' homes.
Sussex Police said the women, aged 24, 35 and 51, were left distressed by Lower's behaviour. Some were employed by organisations providing support services to him following previous stalking offences.
One woman felt so concerned by the situation that she began working from home because she feared he would attend her workplace.
Following reports to police, Lower was arrested and later pleaded guilty to all three offences.
On 27 May, he was sentenced to six years, with three years to be served in custody. He was also made subject to a Stalking Protection Order and handed a 10-year restraining order protecting two of the victims.
Detective Sergeant Kerri Bartup thanked the women for supporting the investigation and said stalking can have a significant impact on victims' lives.
Police are encouraging anyone experiencing stalking behaviour to report it, either online, by calling 101, or by dialling 999 in an emergency.
This case serves as a stark warning that stalking and harassment fnaf– regardless of the perpetrator's age or identity – will be punished appropriately to protect the safety of the community, especially women and girls.
