A27 Closed In Both Directions After Serious Crash Near Eastbourne

The A27 is closed in both directions near Eastbourne following a serious two-vehicle crash.
The collision happened at around 6:30am this morning (Monday) between the Pevensey roundabout and the Golden Jubilee Way roundabout.
South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said one person has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Ambulance crews, critical care paramedics and the air ambulance service attended the scene.
National Highways has put diversions in place, with delays of around 20 minutes reported and around two miles of congestion on the westbound approach.
Drivers heading eastbound are being advised to leave the A27 at the A22 Golden Jubilee Way roundabout and follow the signed diversion route before rejoining at Pevensey Roundabout via the A259.
Westbound motorists are being told to exit at the A259 Pevensey Roundabout and follow the diversion signs.
The road is expected to remain closed into this afternoon while emergency services and traffic management teams work at the scene.
