Appeal After Man Assaulted In Suspected Road Rage Incident Near Petworth

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a suspected road rage incident in Petworth.
An 82-year-old man was confronted and assaulted by the driver of a black Ford Fiesta in The Street, Lodsworth, at about 5.40pm on 20 October.
The incident happened near the junction with Gills Lane.
The driving conditions were wet at the time, and the driver stopped to confront the victim who was left shaken after the incident.
He did not require hospital treatment.
The suspect is described as being a tall man in his 30s, wearing a shirt and trousers. He drove away from the area southbound along The Street.
Officers are investigating the incident, and are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
In particular they wish to trace a member of the public who stopped to check on the welfare of the victim, and may have seen what happened.
