Fire crews were called to a major blaze at a derelict property in Henfield on Monday evening, with the incident believed to have been started deliberately.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to Brighton Road shortly after 5pm on 25 May following multiple 999 calls from members of the public reporting the fire.
Four fire engines, a water carrier and an off-road vehicle were sent to the scene, where firefighters found the building well alight.
A spokesperson for the fire service said:
“Upon arrival crews were confronted with a significant fire affecting the entire property.
“Crews used jets and hose reels to bring the fire under control.
“Fortunately, there were no casualties.
“The fire is believed to be of deliberate ignition.”
Firefighters remained at the scene until around 10pm to ensure the blaze had been fully extinguished and no hotspots remained.
