A moped rider who was dealing Class A drugs in Crawley has been jailed for more than three years.

Anthony Foukx was stopped by police on a footpath in the Northgate area last month, after the moped had previously made off from officers in the town.

Police found dozens of wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, along with more than £1,300 in cash.

Phone evidence showed Foukx was operating as part of the ‘Stretch’ drugs line in Crawley.

The 31-year-old, of South Lambeth Road in London, admitted five drug-related offences.

At Lewes Crown Court on 14 January, he was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.

Crawley Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant Alan Fiest said the sentence reflected the harm caused by drug dealing in local communities and praised officers for safely detaining the suspect.

Police are continuing to urge the public to report suspected drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.
