Police are investigating reports of secondary school pupils gathering in parks across Crawley to take part in organised fights, including 2 alleged assaults.
Sussex Police says officers have received several reports involving school-aged children, with concerns that some youngsters are being pressured into attending meetings in local parks.
Chief Inspector Steven Turner said investigations are ongoing into 2 reported assaults, with officers reviewing video footage linked to the incidents.
Police are working with schools, parents and partner agencies to identify those involved and determine what action may be taken.
Locations currently under investigation include Northgate Park, Ifield Green and Rusper Road.
A letter sent to parents earlier this month warned that some children were being encouraged to meet people they may not know well, and urged families to remain vigilant.
Schools have also been advised to monitor unexplained injuries among pupils and discuss the consequences of violence and anti-social behaviour through assemblies.
Police say increased patrols are taking place in identified areas to help prevent further incidents.
