Charities across Sussex could receive a welcome festive boost thanks to Benefact Group’s annual Movement for Good Christmas campaign.
The initiative is giving away £120,000 in the run-up to Christmas, with £1,000 awarded to ten charities every day for 12 days — meaning 120 organisations will benefit.
Nominations are now open, and people in East Sussex are being encouraged to put forward a local cause close to their hearts for the chance to win a share of the funding.
The daily draws will take place on weekdays between 1 and 16 December, and anyone can nominate using a simple online form at www.movementforgood.com.
Every nominated charity goes into a random draw, giving all organisations — big and small — an equal chance of being selected.
Last year, three Sussex groups received £1,000 each, including Lewes-based Sulha Alliance, Friends Altogether In Rother in Rye, and One For All Forest School CIC in Brighton.
Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Benefact Group, said:
“We’re delighted to be giving away another £120,000 in valuable donations to causes around the country.
"Charities are struggling, and for many the festive season is a critical time.
"We’re asking residents to take a few minutes to nominate a cause they especially care about.”
Owned by a charity itself, Benefact Group donates all available profits to good causes.
Since 2014, it has given more than £250 million, and was recently recognised as the third biggest corporate giver in the UK over the last decade.
The Movement for Good awards are funded by EIO plc, part of the Benefact Group.
