Thousands Of Dogs Expected At Saltdean Lido For Dogtember

Saltdean Lido is preparing to welcome thousands of dogs and their owners as its annual Dogtember swimming festival celebrates its 10th year.
More than 16,000 dogs and their owners are expected to attend across four weekends during September and October.
The festival gives dogs the chance to take a dip with their owners in the lido's heated 40-metre pool.
Organisers say this year's programme will include breed-specific sessions, with meet-ups for small dogs and dachshunds, spaniels and poodles.
There will also be quieter swimming sessions aimed at dogs that may struggle with large crowds.
Dogtember founder Jules Shepherd said dogs of all breeds and sizes had enjoyed taking part in previous festivals and meeting other animals.
The event is being held to raise money for the Saltdean Lido Trust.
This year's sessions are taking place on:
Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September
Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September
Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October
Images from the opening day showed dogs swimming, jumping into the pool and using the slides, while others were encouraged into the water by their owners.
Some dogs, however, needed little encouragement and jumped straight in.
