Woman Arrested After Man Injured In Crawley Chemical Incident

A woman has been arrested after a man was injured in an incident involving a chemical substance in Crawley.

Police and other emergency services were called to Fletcher Close, in Southgate, at around 5.10am on Sunday.

A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

A temporary road closure was put in place in Fletcher Close while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Sussex Police said there is no wider risk to the public.

The exact circumstances of what happened have not been confirmed.
