Three men have been jailed after breaking into a Brighton home and stealing large quantities of illegal drugs.
Officers from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit launched an investigation after stopping a car in Brighton on June 9 last year.
Inside, they found significant amounts of cocaine, cannabis resin and psilocybin.
Those arrested were Joseph Clinch, Xavier Montag and Reggie Burgess.
Enquiries revealed the trio had targeted a property in Vernon Terrace earlier that day, making several attempts to break in before eventually gaining entry and stealing drugs.
Investigators also found the group had planned the burglary in advance, buying tools including a spade, pliers and screwdrivers from local hardware shops to help them gain access.
All three later admitted their roles, with Clinch and Montag also pleading guilty to drugs offences linked to intent to supply.
At Lewes Crown Court, Clinch was jailed for 11 years, Montag for two years and two months, and Burgess for 12 months.
Detective Constable Matt Dennis said the group had intended to distribute the drugs, adding that swift police action prevented further harm to the community.
