Two men from North London are due to be sentenced for their role in supplying crack cocaine in Crawley.

Abdiqadir Ali, 25, and Bashir Mohammed, 27, were linked to the “Silver” drugs line operating in the town.

Their arrests followed a police raid at a property in Langley Drive at around 2am on Thursday, 12 March.

Officers carrying out checks saw packages of drugs being thrown from a window of the house.

Inside, they discovered further wraps of Class A drugs along with nearly £6,000 in cash.

The operation formed part of a wider crackdown during County Lines Intensification Week, targeting drug networks and protecting vulnerable people across the county.

In West Sussex, officers worked with partner agencies to carry out ten warrants, resulting in 37 arrests.

Police also seized £12,000 in cash, 17 mobile phones, 12 knives and a vehicle, while safeguarding 26 children and 20 vulnerable adults.

Ali, of Braemaar Avenue, and Mohammed, of Canterbury Terrace, were both charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, money laundering, and possession of Class B drugs.

They admitted the offences when they appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 12 March.

The pair are due to be sentenced at crown court, with a hearing scheduled for 9 April.

Chief Superintendent Imran Asghar said officers are working year-round to tackle drug networks that exploit vulnerable people.

He added that county lines operations often involve organised crime groups using dedicated phone lines to supply drugs, frequently targeting young people and using the homes of vulnerable individuals.

Police say further charges and convictions are expected following the recent crackdown.
