The University of Chichester has been crowned University of the Year for Teaching Excellence 2026 in the Daily Mail University Guide, published today (14 August).
The award comes just weeks after the latest National Student Survey placed Chichester 6th in the UK for teaching and 12th overall for student satisfaction.
Daily Mail University Guide Editor, Alistair McCall, said Chichester stood out for consistently outstanding feedback from students, top Ofsted ratings for teacher training, and a Gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework.
He added:
“Chichester’s personal approach to teaching and a string of 90%+ scores in the National Student Survey make it a thoroughly deserving winner.”
Vice-Chancellor Professor Symeon Dagkas said the recognition reflects the “care and dedication” of staff, adding:
“We personalise our teaching to help every student reach their potential – which is why 96% of our graduates are in work or further study within 15 months.”
The University of Chichester is currently accepting applications through Clearing. More details at www.chi.ac.uk/clearing.
