Woman Injured After Being Struck By Tyre In Eastergate

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured by a tyre that is believed to have fallen from a moving vehicle in Eastergate.
The incident happened on Barnham Road at around 1.30pm on Friday, 5 June.
A 38-year-old woman was walking along the eastbound pavement when she was struck by the tyre, which officers believe became detached from a vehicle travelling on the road.
She suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Sussex Police say enquiries are ongoing and officers are following several lines of investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage, is being urged to come forward.
