A lecturer at the University of Chichester has marked his 1,000th match in English football.

Louis Langdown, MSc Course Leader in Sports Performance Analysis, reached the milestone as AFC Totton beat Dagenham & Redbridge 2–0 in the National League South on 28 February.

Louis began his career in 2004 as a performance analyst at Crystal Palace FC and has since worked in sport science and coaching roles at Southampton FC, AFC Bournemouth and Portsmouth FC.

He joined the University of Chichester in 2015 and continues to work in the National League system, bringing real-world experience into the classroom.

The milestone was made more special as he shared the touchline with his son, Riley, who is part of the AFC Totton staff and a student at the university.
