Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information leading to the conviction of those responsible for a suspected arson attack on a mosque in Peacehaven, Sussex.

The fire took place on the evening of Saturday 4 October at the building on Phyllis Avenue.

Thankfully, everyone inside the mosque escaped unharmed after noticing a commotion at the front door and seeing flames.

CCTV footage shows two masked individuals in dark clothing approaching the mosque entrance, spraying accelerant, and igniting the fire.

Crimestoppers is supporting the investigation and offering the reward for information received exclusively via their website or phone line.

The reward is available for three months and will expire on 17 January 2026.

Annabelle Goodenough, South East Regional Manager for Sussex, said:

“This appalling attack on a mosque while people were praying could have been fatal.
"Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it’s crucial those involved face justice.
"Crimestoppers guarantees total anonymity, so anyone with information can contact us safely without speaking directly to the police.
"We only want the facts—nothing more.”

The charity is available 24/7. Calls cannot be traced, and IP addresses are never tracked.

Rewards are only available for tips passed directly to Crimestoppers, not the police.

Anyone with information can report anonymously via the Crimestoppers website Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
