Police Investigate Serious Assault Near Eastbourne Seafront

Police are investigating a serious assault involving a 13-year-old boy near Eastbourne seafront.

Officers were called to Grand Parade, close to the junctions with Elms Avenue and Cavendish Place, at around 5.10pm on Sunday (September 20).

The boy suffered an injury consistent with a stabbing and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.

A group of young people were seen leaving the area following the incident, and police are working to identify and locate them.

Officers are expected to remain in the area while enquiries continue, with an increased police presence also being used to reassure the local community.

Police are appealing for witnesses, as well as anyone with relevant CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage, to come forward.
