A man has been jailed for killing an 80-year-old man in Worthing.

Arno Engels, 40, was sentenced at Hove Crown Court to two years and four months in prison after admitting the manslaughter of Anthony “Tony” Scarrott.

Mr Scarrott was found seriously injured at his home in Westcourt Road in September last year and later died in hospital.

Police say Engels, who had been staying at the address, struck him during an argument, causing him to fall and suffer a fatal head injury.

Officers later found Engels in the street as he went to hand himself in, where he admitted the assault.
