Pair Arrested Over Vehicle Damage Scam

Sussex Police have arrested two people in connection with a vehicle scam in the Worthing area.

It follows multiple reports of elderly and vulnerable victims being targeted by a man and a woman who claim their vehicle has been hit.

They take the victims’ details and provide a false quote for repairs, insisting they pay cash instead of submitting an insurance claim.

Police have been made aware of this issue and have since arrested a 38-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man from Findon on suspicion of fraud by false representation.

They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
