Police are appealing for information after a 17-year-old student was assaulted on a Brighton street in what’s being described as a shocking late-night altercation.
The incident happened on Ditchling Road at around 8.15pm on Wednesday, 17 September, when the teenager noticed a heated argument between a man and a woman nearby.
According to reports, the man then turned on the student and launched a physical attack, leaving the boy with head and facial injuries.
The clash was eventually broken up by the woman involved and a friend of the victim, before the man and woman both fled the scene.
Detectives say they are following several lines of enquiry but are now urging the public to help track down the man they want to speak to.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said:
“We’re keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who may have CCTV or mobile phone footage from the area at the time.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1296 of 17/09.
