Three Teenagers Arrested After Woman Assaulted And Dog Kicked In Newhaven

Three teenagers have been arrested following an incident in Newhaven in which a woman was reportedly assaulted and a dog kicked.

Police were called to Newhaven High Street at around 8pm on Monday, August 24.

A 16-year-old boy from Hassocks and a 17-year-old girl from Brighton were arrested on suspicion of common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, causing unnecessary suffering to an animal and theft from a shop.

Both have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

A 15-year-old girl from Brighton was also arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and remains in custody.

Sussex Police said footage of the incident has been circulating on social media and officers are continuing to establish the full circumstances.
