Two Arrested After Stabbing Near Worthing Seafront

Two men have been arrested following a stabbing near the seafront in Worthing.


Emergency services were called to New Parade at around 3:20pm on Thursday following reports that a man had been seriously injured.


A 30-year-old man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition, according to Sussex Police.


Police say a 25-year-old man with no fixed address has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.


A 31-year-old man from Worthing has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.


Armed officers were among those deployed to the scene as part of the emergency response.


Chris May said:

“This is an active investigation and we encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or who has relevant information, such as CCTV or mobile footage, to contact us.
"There will be patrols in the area for reassurance, and people are encouraged to stop and talk to officers.”

Police have asked anyone with information to contact them.
