Burglar Jailed After Breaking Into Three Bognor Businesses In One Night

A man who carried out a burglary spree targeting businesses in Bognor Regis has been jailed after being identified through DNA evidence.

Max Kramer broke into three premises in the town during one night, stealing cash from tills and a charity collection box.

The 34-year-old was also found with receipts linked to one of the tills he had taken.

The offences happened between 16 and 17 April, when Kramer forced his way into businesses by smashing windows.

The locations targeted included a fish and chip shop in Highfield Road, a pub in Scott Street, and a pizza takeaway in Aldwick Road.

Kramer was later arrested by officers and appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on 3 July, where he admitted three counts of burglary other than a dwelling, along with one count of criminal damage.

He was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Arun District Commander Chief Inspector Adam McCaig said:

"Kramer targeted businesses during his overnight crime spree.

"His offences caused distress for the business owners who not only had to count the cost of the thefts, but also the cost of repairing the damage caused to their premises from smashed glass.

"We take reports of burglary seriously, and Kramer was swiftly detained. He is now serving a custodial sentence."
